Gentle Sunlight
“Gentle Sunlight” is an abstract representation of rejuvenation and tranquility. The artwork is my homage to the incredible beauty and restorative energy of nature, highlighting the profound connection between our inner vitality and the natural world.
The work portrays a person experiencing rebirth through meditation in the midst of nature’s embrace. Immersed in a dream like woodland landscape, they ‘forest bathe’, seated near the enchanting, crystal blue ocean and under the deep blues of a clear sky, they bask in the magical powers of golden sunlight, known for its spirit-healing qualities.
I wanted to vividly illustrate my own experience of nature’s healing influence and the therapeutic and strengthening power of meditation within nature. Vibrant hues of green and blue meld with splashes of red, symbolising the human body, its blood, and heart.

Celestial Tapestry
“Celestial Tapestry”, though expansive, unfolds as an intricate portrayal of the cosmos, viewed from our own unique earthly perspective. In this artwork I have attempted to captivate, with rich, meticulous detailing, the boundless beauty and enigma of space which I have always loved.
I like to describe this work as a ‘cosmic ballet of twinkling stars, swirling galaxies, and vibrant nebulae that play across the canvas, evoking a sense of awe and wonder in the observor. I want to weave a visual symphony of light and colour, drawing you into a contemplation of the universe’s incredible vastness.’
Each element in this celestial panorama is rendered with precision, inviting onlookers to explore the infinite depths of the universe from our own earthy vantage point. The parallel lines depict our own attempt to humanise and tame the vastness of space by catalouging, mapping and regulating it’s often terrifying limitlessness. The ghosts of a planetary outline underline our own history of placing ourselves, the Earth at the centre of all creation.

birch sunrise
“Birch Sunrise” is my abstract homage to the enduring beauty of nature, inspired by the my own personal journey. Marking my move to a forever home, I planted four Birch trees, symbolising my family. This painting captures the majestic essence of these trees and is most importantly, evocative of a blazing sunrise over a Birch Tree forest, the sunrise’s beautiful colours are mirrored in the snowy trunks’ radiant glow – against the vivid canvas of dawn and dusk.
I experimented with varying moss sizes and hues, the ghostly moss contrasts starkly with the dark trunks. Intense oranges and reds ignite the scene, infusing bold warmth and vibrant energy. This piece not only represents a personal landmark for me and my family, but also brings a dynamic and uplifting energy to any space, celebrating the interplay of nature’s colours and the endless passage of time.

dancing seaweed
A fascination and terror of the sea and all that dwells within.
As an Australian, I have spent a good amount of my time in the water. The sea beckons and my dream is to live with a view of the ocean. This was queerly, juxtaposed with an irrational fear of what is below the surface, until I spent a wonderful holiday in Sharm-El-Sheik and learnt to dive. I loved the sensation of flying through a new world and what lies beneath I found breathtaking (literally!) I can’t help but reflect this awe in my work.
I was struggling with a name for this piece, so asked my Instagram followers to help. My dear friend Catherine suggested ‘Dancing Seaweed’ – it feels so right.

Golden Peacocktress
Working with fluid and warm acrylics and vibrant pastels.
This work evolved slowly first a purely metallic work with the beautiful greens, golds and bronzes. I didn’t have an image in mind and was purely moving the paints into patterns and shapes that felt organic. I added the pastels as a vibrant contrast and as I worked the picture of a lovely peacock emerged.
Look closely into her eye, she has such a magnificent but calm aura about her.

Quince and Pomegranate
I love this piece so much. The more I look at it, the more there is to see.
It came about by pure chance, as often the best pieces do! I wanted to create a piece of my favourite fruit – Quince, a piece inspired by Caravaggio, an artist whose work I love (I don’t think I would have liked him so much…) but the colours began to move, to ‘float’. I’m not sure what went wrong but I loved the result. Hope I can replicate the process!

Leigh Mission: Last Image Received
I was inspired by ‘The Expanse’ si-fi series by James S. A. Corey which I had just finished reading. I had loved the books (and the TV series which was amazing also – check them out if you haven’t already).
When the work was whole, it was lovely, but it felt a little too ‘space opera’. I began removing sections and the piece began to tell its own story – an exploration ended in tragedy…

Red Center Gorge
The first time I was ever in an airplane, I flew from Australia to the UK.
I was incredibly lucky to fly over the ‘red center’ of Australia, firstly in daylight and secondly, I had a window seat!
I could not believe the rich tapestry of colours laid out below me. I knew then, that someday I would let these images infuse my work.
